Last Weekend

You're probably thinking, why am I posting about last weekend, when it's this weekend? Well last weekend was a blast and it's taken all week to recover. It all started on Friday, because that's when the weekend starts: I dropped my husband off at a friend's house because they were going fishing off-shore the next day. To my surprise, I got to enjoy a beautiful sunset on the water; what a nice reward for being such an accommodating wife ;)

On Saturday, after completing some household chores, I had the great pleasure of spending time with some old friends who were visiting the area. It had been over a year since I had seen them, but it was like we've never been apart. We went to Red's Ice House, a great bar on the water, and had dinner and drinks. It was definitely a late dinner, 9:00pm, but we had a great time watching the boats coming and going and dolphins playing in their wake. For dinner, I had some wonderful coconut shrimp with a sunset margarita that was divine. Good food, good drinks and good friends: nothing gets better!

To round out the weekend, we had brunch on Sunday with these same friends, again on the water. (Can you spot the trend in my life?) The bloodys and mimosas were flowing. Against my normal behavior, I let the waitress order for me as I was being completely indecisive. I was plesently surprised when I was served French toast. I would not normally order something sweet at brunch, but it was a great treat. On top was a sort of cinnamon whipped cream that I could have eaten by the bowl.

We spent the afternoon at the beach playing KanJam, a frisbee game developed in Buffalo, NY. Not only is this game fun to play, it is a blast to watch. To my benefit, the guys started betting margaritas on wins, and believe me I won! For dinner, we went Firey Ron's Home Team BBQ; they have the BEST chicken wings prepared with their BBQ rub, smoked, and served with a white BBQ sauce = AMAZING! I might eat these wings everyday, if it wouldn't add to my waistline.

All in all, after last weekend I was full. Full of good times and good food.

Alright.... It's been a while.

Alright.... It's been a while. I had no clear direction for this blog. While on vacation last week, I actually had a discussion about this with my husband. He suggested food blogging: write about the restaurants I go to and the things I eat. I think I'll take it up another notch (I do love food) because I don't "go out" all that often. I'm going to blog about the food, cooking (or lack thereof), and other household topics.

I can take note from my namesake "Mrs. Robinson" without The Graduate influences. Mrs. Robinson was, as many housewives in her day were, a great entertainer. That is what I aspire to be, whether it's in my own home, a restaurant, friends house, you name it! I love to have fun, entertain and be entertained.

Hopefully, this new found inspiration will ignite my dedication to this blog, as it is something I would like to accomplish.

If you want to follow along my escapades, I welcome you. If not, thanks for getting this far!

Manhunts & Good Food!

Today was interesting, to say the least. Outside of my office building there was an ongoing manhunt after a high-speed car chase. Never a dull moment. Luckily, police were in the area and our building is very secure. Phew.

Today was a very good food day as well. My husband made a wonderful shrimp salad last night which I got to enjoy for lunch. For dinner, we had the largest chicken pot pie I have ever seen. It was from Costco, for about $15 and it will definitely feed us for at least 4 meals. Great buy!

Hope to have some excitement for you tomorrow!

First Post!

As a new year's resolution, I decided to start a blog. I have no expectations of anyone reading this, but see it more of a way to keep myself accountable. If I write something for the world (wide web) to see, then I best follow through.

A little about me: I am somewhat of a carpetbagger, born in the north and raised in the good ole south. I have lived in the best state, South Carolina, for the past 20 years and can't imagine being anywhere else. I am newly married and have no complaints. My husband and I live in our little house with the cutest dog in the universe, Barley.

I am excited to start this blog and share my adventures. I hope you, if anyone is reading, enjoy it, too!
